5 Steps to Creating Your Birthday Invitations
It’s your birthday...Woohoo!
It’s time to celebrate and get your nearest and dearest together to celebrate!
Want to know how to create impressive birthday party invitations minus the fuss? Check out our 5 steps:
Step 1: Create your guest list: First things first, you need to know who you want to invite, and create a list double checking the spelling of names and addresses if required.
Step 2: Choose the right invitation template: You want your invitation to say something about you and your special event. Not sure which template to use?
Take inspiration from your favourite colours, your hobbies, and places you love to be. For example, if you love going to the beach and will be having a BBQ by the water, why not use a template with an image of surf and sand? Or if you are having a ladies high tea, use soft pastels and perhaps a pink and white striped invitation.
Step 3: What are the important details of your event? The first things to think about and must be included are the What, When, Where, Why and the RSVP details. If it’s a lunch or dinner, it’s a good idea to include how much per head the event will be if you aren’t covering the cost.
Having a themed event? If you are having a dress up party, or require your guests to adhere to a particular dress code make sure you include this also.
Is the event in a newly developed area? Sometimes a GPS can have difficulties picking up a new area. If you think some people may have difficulty getting to the destination, include a map and you may want to even add in suggestions for free parking areas, or public transport routes.
Basically, be thorough with the event details so nothing is left to speculation and your guests know exactly what’s going on.
Step 4: Triple check all of the details: Go over your invites a few times thoroughly to make sure there are no mistakes and everything is ready to be printed as is. If there is something on the invitation you aren’t sure about, get a second opinion from your partner or close friend. Make sure that everything from dress code (if there is one) to RSVP details are clear.
Step 5: Make sure you send your invitations out in time, giving your guests enough time to RSVP: You don’t want to send them out too early, but you also want to make sure that your guests can keep the day/night free. If you have a few friends who tend to have extra busy schedules, texting them well in advance, ( 6-7 weeks prior) asking them to keep the date of your party free is a good idea.
Once this is done, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the lead up to your birthday celebration!
